TEAM NORWAY Returns from Colorado Fall Camp
- November 21, 2006 -
TEAM NORWAY Alpine Ski Team returned home Sunday after spending eight days training in Summit County, Colorado. Twenty athletes participated in slalom and giant slalom training at Loveland Ski Resort and A-Basin Ski Resort. This is the eighth year that TEAM NORWAY has traveled to Colorado to begin their ski season.
Program Director/Head Coach Ron Lawrence stated, "It was a great start to our season. We have had back-to-back years of great snow in Colorado. Our team is way ahead of where we have been in previous years."
Lawrence continued, "...this will be our best team since the founding of TEAM NORWAY in 1999. We have a number of excellent athletes and a great group of young people. I am really happy that I have the opportunity to coach such great kids. The coaching staff is excellent and excited about the start of our season and what we got accomplished in Colorado this past week."
TEAM NORWAY will send only a select number of athletes to the first USSA event in Central at Ski Brule. The remainder of the team (60+ athletes) will stay home and prepare for the Central USSA Region II event at Norway Mountain on Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 16-17.
